The Basin Primary School provides a comprehensive educational program. This quality program includes teaching in the eight Key Learning Areas, with German as our Language Other than English (LOTE). The teaching of Numeracy and Literacy are the main priorities in our school. Information, Communication Technology (ICT) is an integral part of all learning areas.

CURRICULUM SUPPORT AND ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

Physical Education - An extensive physical education program is part of the learning program for all students. A Fundamental Motor Skills program is conducted for our young students while a broad sports education program is conducted in the senior grades. Our students participate in Interschool Sport, Intra school Sport, a swimming program, School Athletics Sports, Fun Run, boys and girls sporting days and specialist clinics.

Learning Technologies - Information, Communication and Technology is an integral part of our learning environment. Students are encouraged to fully utilize classroom computers, the learning centre, scanners, digital cameras and other related hardware and software.

Camps - A camping program for years three to six students operates.

Leadership & Decision Making - Our student leaders are a valued part of life at our school. Students elect students as members of the Junior School Council, School Captains, House Captains and House Vice Captains.

Transition Programs - Transition programs from kindergarten to Prep and Year 6 to Year 7 are organised each year with our local secondary college and kindergartens.

Pastoral Care & Counselling - A visiting guidance officer, social worker and speech pathologist regularly visit our school.

Religious Activities - Weekly lessons in Christian Religious Education are conducted.
